Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Leadership Coaching
The CMO role has evolved as the health care environment has grown more complex
CMOs need to successfully meet the clinical, administrative, business, cultural, political and leadership demands of this position, including how to handle the emotional and psychological pressures present in the current world of high burnout.
Our 1v1 executive leadership coaching engagements will enable current CMOs and those headed toward CMO roles, to not only succeed, but to excel. The coaching process will help them define their unique role, their associated responsibilities, and how to maximize influence, as the individual prepares to be a high-functioning member of her/his medical society, company, physician group, hospital and/or health-system C-suite.
Jim is a national leader in patient experience and leadership development in healthcare. He has a deep understanding of clinical operations in Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine. This knowledge gives him credibility with the physicians and healthcare teams he serves. Our group of physicians has had the pleasure to work with Jim and we’ve seen significant improvements each time we work with him.
Dr. Raj Chand
Chief Executive Officer, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital;
formerly Chief Medical Officer, IFOH;
Formerly President, Virginia Emergency Medicine Associates
In our discussion, Dr. Dick Kovacs (Chief Medical Officer of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) as well as a Past President of the Board of Trustees of the ACC), reflects on lessons learned, not only as President of the ACC at the moment the pandemic spread like wildfire globally, but also navigating the months, and years, that followed. We wrap up with leadership views on individual and organizational trust.
My coaching model uses a results-focused, self-directed learning model informed by research, positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, change principles, and adult learning theory. The process is collaborative; you and I will work together to help you discover what’s most meaningful for you and how it will help you achieve the results you desire.
We’ll utilize virtual and face-to-face meetings, leadership assessment tools (for example the DiSC, a 360 and/or other tools), optional interviews by Coach with trusted colleagues (if Client wants that), case studies, peer learning (where possible), “live” application labs and other methods to ultimately help the individual increase capacity, awareness and effectiveness (personally and professionally).
I’m fortunate to have had many diverse life experiences that will influence our journey toward success. I’ve worked closely and successfully with hundreds of healthcare professionals at over two hundred hospitals in the US and abroad. My experiences outside healthcare at Fortune50 companies (IBM and Intel), the Advisory Board Company (ABCO), Silicon Valley start-ups and global roles in the public sector (United Nations) have shaped my multiple bottom-line view of performance improvement and multi-cultural perspective of problem-solving, achievement and executive-level success.
