Hanna Gaggin, M.D. MPH

Dr. Gaggin is a general cardiologist, educator and clinical investigator at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She is a member of the Cardiovascular Medicine Section Leadership Council and Cardiovascular Continuing Medical Education Oversight Committee at Massachusetts General Hospital.

She is the Subspecialty Core Educator for the Internal Medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and is active in peer-education through her role as editor and course director for the MGH Cardiology Board Review and on demand cardiology education with Harvard Medical School Graduate Medical Education. In 2020, she was selected as one of the Anne Klibanski Visiting Scholars Award Recipients at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Gaggin serves as an Editorial Consultant for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Heart Failure and reviews for multiple cardiology and medicine peer-reviewed journals.

C. Michael Valentine, MD

General cardiologist and professor of medicine at UVA who has been caring for patients in Central Virginia for more than 30 years, and visiting with patients, leading physicians and researchers, globally, for the last 15 of those years.

A Past President of the American College of Cardiology, he has helped create leadership institutes in different organizations and is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders in medicine.

 

Leslie Flores, MHA, SFHM

Leslie Flores lends a healthcare administrator’s perspective to the consulting practice (NelsonFlores.com) that she runs with her colleague, Dr. John Nelson. Leslie has served in executive-level positions in hospital operations, physician practice development and managed care. She has practiced as a healthcare management consultant since 1999.

In addition to her work in hospitalist practice management consulting, Ms. Flores’ experience includes extensive work in management and leadership development, leadership coaching, retreat facilitation, conflict mediation, and team-building in healthcare settings.

Ms. Flores is active in the Society of Hospital Medicine, where she serves as an informal advisor for practice management issues.  

John Nelson, MD, MHM, FACP

John is the nation’s preeminent expert on hospital medicine practice management. With more than 25 years of experience as a practicing hospitalist, Dr. Nelson co-founded the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM; the medical society for the nation’s hospitalists) and remains an active figure in the evolution of hospitalist practice nationally. In 2010, the society honored Dr. Nelson for his contributions to the field by inducting him as one of only three members of the inaugural class of Masters in Hospital Medicine.

Frank Ball, ICF, PCC

Frank Ball has been an independent Executive Coach and Organizational Consultant for more than 25 years. His practice focuses on working with individual leaders and leadership teams in order to build leadership capacity within their organizations.  Prior to this, Frank had careers in the U.S. Marine Corps and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) where he was responsible for all Leadership Training and Executive Development at that Agency.

Frank has been an adjunct faculty member in Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership since 1997 and was a founding faculty member in Georgetown’s Leadership Coaching Certificate Program which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation. 

Frank also co-founded an angel investing group that has invested in twenty-six technology and consumer products companies in the mid-Atlantic region.  He has served as a Board member for several companies and professional organizations.

Virginia, “Ginny” Beeson BSN, MSN, NEA-BC

Chief Nurse Executive, consultant and educator with over 40 years experience in nursing.  She was a Navy nurse for 30 years, where she held numerous nurse executive jobs, including 2 Chief Nurse positions and an assignment as the Deputy Director of the Navy Nurse Corps, where she directed policy and programs for Navy nurses world-wide.  She retired from the Navy in 2003 and now teaches and consults on nursing/healthcare leadership issues at hospitals and health systems around the country.

 

Al Noshirvani, Co-Founder, Board Chair, CEO

Al is the Co-Founder of Motionsoft inc which was recently acquired by Daxko, a leading provider of software and financial services for the health, fitness and wellness industry.

With 25 years of experience in software sales and business development , four of them as the General Manager of KI Software, Al acquired the assets of the company in 2004 and founded Motionsoft. Prior to successfully exiting Motionsoft in its sale to daxko in August of 2020, Al  completed five other acquisitions, raised over 40 Million dollars in venture debt and equity capital and grew Motionsoft to over 100 employees. Motionsoft’ s focus on helping fitness clubs to Get Them, Keep Them and Know Them has resulted in some of the best brands in fitness choosing MoSo-MRM as their management system.

In 2010, Al was named by the Washington Business Journal as a member of the 40 under 40 which recognizes the Greater Washington regions brightest young business leaders based on demonstrated business success.

John Logan, CFO & Treasurer; U.S. Navy

John’s career in the international ocean transportation business began in 1970 lasting over 38 years.

In 1988 John joined Heidmar Inc., a young company in the shipping industry. John was responsible for accounting, finance and HR administration. As CFO and Treasurer, John was instrumental in the company becoming one of the leading Commercial Management Companies operating tankers around the world. John retired from Heidmar in 2006.

In 1973, prior to joining Heidmar, John was employed by Stolt-Nielsen Inc. in the Ship Management Department within Parcel Tanker Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary.

Prior to John’s career in shipping, John served in the U.S. Navy, Aviation Helicopter Air and Sea Rescue. John served at the Naval Air Station in Oceana, Virginia and aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt CV-42 and USS Intrepid CVA-11.

Hal Baker, MD Senior Vice President & Chief Digital & Chief Information Officer

In 2022, Dr. Hal Baker was named, “Physician Executive of the Year” by HIMSS and AMDIS.

Dr. Baker assumed his most current role in 2020 with a focus on creation of WellSpan’s Analytics Center of Excellence and WellSpan’s Innovation Center. He also oversees information technology, health information management, medical informatics, cyber security, digital and biomedical.

Since 2005, he has championed WellSpan’s progress in leveraging technology to improve patient safety, clinical care and quality of the patient experience. An avid promoter of Open Notes and instant access for patients to their results, Dr. Baker championed the creation of patient portals that focused on giving patients immediate control of their data. Through his leadership, WellSpan achieved HIMSS Level 7 recognition on both Cerner and Epic EHRs.

From 2013-20, Dr. Baker served as Senior Vice President, Clinical Improvement and drove an enhanced focus to improve patient safety. By fostering collaboration between clinicians and technology, WellSpan was able to dramatically improve survival in sepsis to nation leading levels. This effort was recognized with WellSpan’s receipt of the 2019 John M. Eisenberg Patient Safety & Quality Award.
